Leah O’Connor has spent 14 years in public education in varying roles as a School Counselor, Director of School Counseling, and School Administrator. Most recently, Leah held a 2-year (Covid grant funded) position as the Social Emotional Learning & Wellness Director for staff and students, a K-12 district administrator role at Old Saybrook Public Schools.
Currently, Leah is a new small business owner of “O’Connor Counseling & College Consulting.” She uses her diverse educational, professional and counseling background to support students and their families throughout the entire undergraduate admissions process. Additionally, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), she has a private therapy practice providing counseling to diverse clients, with an interest in women’s issues and mental health (e.g. maternal/peripartum), coping skills, parenting, relationships, and anxiety and stress management. Her therapeutic approaches incorporate mind, body and spirit for individuals of any age to help clients achieve wellness and feel better!
Leah graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Art, received her Masters in School Counseling from University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut and her 6th year and 092 Certification in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University.
Having grown up on the shoreline, Leah enjoys residing in Old Saybrook with her husband and three busy boys. She loves trying to keep up with her boys, low tides, beach adventures, breaking a sweat, biking to sunsets, copious amounts of coffee, trying to keep a garden alive and creative writing pursuits.
